Beschrijving
They are formed by natural gases emanating from deep beneath the earth (over 3000 meters below) that pass through layers of water and argyle. Gases push the water-argyle mix to the surface as mud. These eruptions dry up and build conic shaped masses resembling volcanoes.
"Paclele de la Beciu" is the smallest group, with intense activity and very liquid mud forming cones almost flat. The entire area is filled with oil wells, some still working.
